Take Root…Bear Fruit!
Psalm 1
It has been interesting to watch the grass turn brown as the 100
degree-plus-days continue with no rain in site. However, at least for
now, the huge trees along the roadways in the residential areas are still leafy
and green. As I looked at those trees, and noticed how green that they
were I was reminded that they are green because they are deep rooted.
That’s the way it is with our life as a Christian, if we don’t spend time in
the “water” of God’s Word, our roots can’t go deep and if our roots aren’t we
begin to get dry and shallow. However, the more time we spend in the Bible and
meditating on what we have read, our roots begin to go deep, and as the
Psalmist said, will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water and that tree
flourishes! How much “water” are you getting?
