Dan and Debra have been serving the Lord together since their marriage in 1989.  Both of them come from Christian homes, Debra from Mesquite, Texas, and Dan from Jefferson City. Missouri.  They have both consistently desired to serve God with all their hearts and help lead people in that same direction.  For almost twenty years, their ministry has been marked by a sincere love for others and a commitment to show that love while leading others to Christ.  Dan and Debra along with their children, Sarah, Jonathan and Becka, share a deep desire to build a warm atmosphere of acceptance, family, and friendship at Southwood.
Les Doyle has long served Southwood Baptist Church as the Senior Adults’ Minister. He spearheads the Senior Saints ministry and visiting our shut-ins, faithfully going to the Vega Place Sr. Adult Retirement and Tanglewood Oaks Retirement Centers. Les has fifty hours toward a degree in Religious Education from the New Orleans Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Les has enlightened many through his Sunday School and pulpit teachings. His wife’s name is Ann and they have four children (Mark, John, Lisa, and Paul) as well as a dozen grandchildren.
Brandon and Kimberly Carter took over the reigns of Southwood’s Youth Ministry ministry staff on August 23, 2009.  Brandon hails from Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kimberly from San Antonio, Texas.  They were married in 2000 and have been serving The Lord ever since.  He is currently enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  She holds a degree in counseling and is working towards her LPC.  The Carters have a strong desire to see our young people grow spiritually and that they “will become strong, passionate, evangelistic servant leaders of now and tomorrow.”
In the spring of 2010, Terry and Cindy Carlile joined the ranks of our Southwood Ministers.  Terry is Southwood’s “Minister of Music” with a great sense of humor.  If ever a Christian exemplified the “joy of the Lord,” it would be Terry.  He will make you laugh and he will  bring a smile to your face. Southwood music can be descried as blended, to include hymns as well as praise and worship  Our prayer is that you are blessed as you join us in worship and glorify God with the voices He has given us!
