Southwood strives to reach the world for Christ.  We use many “outreach programs” to
that end.  Some of the outreach attempts of past years have included:

•”GROW” (God Rewards Our Work; dinner and visitation of prospects)

•”Patch the Pirate” Children’s Program

•Drama Ministry for youth

•Many activities for grades 6-12 including the “Teen Machine”

•”Adopt-A-Family” program each Christmas, where we take care of the needs of those who need
 a little something special
•Picnics and catered meals

•Upward Bound basketball and cheerleading
•Visits and photo opportunities with “Santa and Mrs. Claus”
•Operation Shoebox

•Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for those in particular need

•”Super Saturday” activities throughout the year

•Youth and Jr. Youth camps

•Missionary trips

•Fall Festival/Carnival

•Heavy emphasis on missions and giving to missions

•Starting or supporting outreach churches (Hispanic, Vietnamese, Karen, etc.)
•Young adults caring for the needs of other church members

•Full-time shut in and seniors’ ministries
•Podcasting, video on demand, live streaming, audio CDs and video DVDs

•Adult and youth choirs
