Students in grades sixth through twelve are part of the youth group.  Those who qualify become
members of
SWYM  (Southwood Youth Ministry) a group with special events and privileges.  We
meet in the  Fellowship Center at our personalized “dock,” reminding us of our motto, “
Displaying
Outwardly Christ’s Kingdom.”  We are an active group with many fun, memory-making functions,
including "Southwood Praise (Youth Ensemble Choir),"  "Open Gym” (every Wednesday
night at 6:00 PM),  “Impact” (each Wednesday night, in the Fellowship Center, starting at 7:00 PM),
and like chatting in the on-line forum.

Of course, we put an emphasis on Spiritual development, as well as fun.  We attend Teen Rallies,
Teen Camps, frequently assist in setting up or running church activities, actively participate in
the church music offerings, help to operate the church video and audio systems, as well as enjoy
our frequent “All-Day Activities” (such as paintball or trips to sporting events).

Additionally, we take part in
authentic mission work each summer with a mission's trip to Mexico!
This is one youth group that is actively preparing its members to be servants of God throughout
their lives!
